All the teachers K-5 picked a TEK and came up with a Driving question for their classes. They are then letting their students really own their learning by letting them drive where their projects take them. The teachers have the end in mind and the blueprint and are simply navigating so their students stay on the right path. We have all been following this Engineering Design Process:
I know it's been a shift for many teachers, but everyone has jumped in and it's exciting to walk around the building and hear teachers questioning and sometimes letting students fail, but being right there when they do and brushing them off and getting them back into the game. I'm so proud to be a part of a school where people aren't afraid to take risks and try new things. It's amazing what the kids can do when you give them some space and let them lead the way!
